Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs from routine physical examinations to complicated diseases and cancer evaluation.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry (kidney, liver, electrolytes, thyroid, blood sugar), hematology (red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets), urinalysis, and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized tests such as FIP, Toxoplasmosis, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever serology that cannot be performed in house. The results of these tests are often available online and can be downloaded directly into your pet's medical record.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We perform routine x-rays as well as gastrointestinal barium series and intravenous pyelograms (dye studies of the kidney). We have digital x-rays and can e-mail them to specialists or copy them to a CD if required for consultation in complicated cases.

This x-ray is showing the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. An injectable contrast agent had been given intravenously to help enhance these structures. This procedure is called an intravenous pyelography (IVP) or excretory urography. This procedure is used to identify abnormal ureters and to evaluate the kidneys.

Ultrasound Service: We have an ultrasound machine which is often used to diagnose problems such as bladder cancer, liver disease, and to evaluate pregnancies.

Video Otoscopy: We are equipped with a video otoscope which is a machine that allows us to treat complicated ear infections. The video otoscope can be used to retrieve foreign objects from a ear, thoroughly clean out the ear (with general anesthesia), and allow a pet's owner to see the diseased ear by taking a video or pictures of the procedure. The scope can be used for other procedures such as biopsies of the nasal sinus (nose).

Internal medicine consults: We offer referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures, and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases if needed.
